An update

January 19, 2009 by rockhoppers

Just a quick status update on the boys…

I have been very lax at posting on here recently – my apologies I am looking at spending this week posting about key events since the start of November, and once completed I will be deleting this post.

Of the top of my head the posts will include:

  • Jacks Birthday
  • Harry’s weigh-ins and weight loss
  • Day trip to Paulton
  • Santa’s steamtrain
  • Bowling x2
  • Christmas
  • Paradise
  • Welwyn Under 5’s

There will possibly be more but for now that is that.  Feel free to comment if you think there is something else that needs posting

Santa’s Steam Train

December 20, 2008 by rockhoppers

Today we went on a steam train and had a visit by Santa.  As you can see in the picture Father Christmas was on the front of the train and his reindeer and sleigh ran alongside the train.

Father Christmas gave Jack a set of rubber ducks and Harry a blanket.

All this took place at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre and not only did we get to ride on a train with Santa we got a mince pie and drink.  Jack also had fun playing with the train sets and looking at the old carridges and trains

A day trip to Paulton

November 29, 2008 by rockhoppers

We tried an experiment today and did a day trip to Paulton which worked fairly well.  We left at 06:00 and the plan was the boys were to go back to sleep, Harry managed this and Jack did eventually.

We arrived at the boys grandma in time for breakfast, and then Jack had a play on the slide in the garden.  Uncle Rob came over for a play with the boys and there are some pictures taken on the iPhone over on flickr.

After lunch we headed over to Paulton park where Jack played on the roundabout and slide – and got his xray taken!

After dinner we left around 18:30 again with the intention of the boys going to sleep but it took over 90 mins for Jack to drop off.

On a slightly seperate note in a service station on the M4 we meet some slightly the worse for wear Aussies following their defeat to Wales earlier in the day

Jacks birthday cake

Jacks birthday cake

It was Jack’s birthday today and this afternoon we had a party for him at home.  We played pin the tail on the donkey and had a treasure hunt as well as a pirate themed cake and gifts.

Amongst those invited were all three of Jack’s grandparents, Uncle Rob and Auntie Sam, Hannah & Jacob, Beth & Josh and Grace.

Jack got lots of presents amongst others a wagon, a trains et and a remote controled car.

Guy Fawkes

After the boys dinner, Hannah and Jacob came round to let off a few fireworks to celebrate bonfire night on Wednesday.

Prehaps predicatably Jack screamed through the fireworks and Harry slept.  The evening was not a total washout as Hannah and Jacob both enjoyed the fireworks, and I think that Andy enjoyed lighting them.

Jack fell out of bed

October 31, 2008 by rockhoppers

I guess it was too good to be true, but tonight Jack managed to fall out of his bed.  We heard a load bang whilst in the living room and by the time we made it up stairs Jack was in full scream mode.  Understandably I guess as he had just woken himself up by rolling out of bed.

A quick cuddle from his Mummy later Jack soon fell straight back to sleep

Emilie’s Birthday party

October 31, 2008 by rockhoppers

As it is halloween Emilie’s birthday party was a halloween fancy dress party.  Harry went as a bat and Jack as a vampire.  The is a photo on flickr of the boys before they left.

Party games were played at Emilie’s which has given Jack’s Mummy some inspiration for Jack’s birthday party in a couple of weeks

Harry has his jabs

October 27, 2008 by rockhoppers

Today Harry had a trip to the doctors to have his first round of immunisations.  He coped with it pretty well and is currently asleep recovering.

We took the oppertunity to ask the doctor about the amount of time Harry spends asleep – he only seems to be awake for about 4 houtrs a day – but she told us not to worry and enjoy the rest

Swimming lessons

October 23, 2008 by rockhoppers

Another trip to the swimming pool and Jack is sill enjoying it, it seems that having Mummy back in charge means that it is fun again.  Jack even waved goodbye to Steve at the end
